Starbucks Coffee Knows That Customer Service Is Everything

Whether you love it or hate it, there is no denying that coffee has become even more popular over the last few years, which is largely due to the huge number of coffee outlets that have opened up all over the place. Without a need though, they wouldn't prosper, so it's fair to say the populace as a whole are fond of their daily coffee. You don't have to walk far these days before you find a Starbucks coffee shop. People just love lattes, frappuccinos and mocha.

Starbucks coffee is now worth billions. Not bad for a business that started with a shop in Washington, then went on to open shops in many different countries. You may wonder why Starbucks coffee is such a huge successs. Well, speaking personally, my view is that it's not the product itself. It's a bit like McDonalds - they don't make the greatest burgers in the world but they know how to develop business systems. Going back to Starbucks coffee, have you ever tasted one? It's not what I would call fantastic. Compare their product with those served in smaller coffee shops and you'll notice a difference in the taste !

Okay, so what things are Starbucks coffee good at then? Well, one thing they are good at is consistency. You know you're going to get the same tasting cup of coffee in another Starbucks on the other side of town. If you love the taste, then from that point of view it's a winner. To me it's like buying a pizza that isn't the greatest, then knowing you are going to buy one that tastes exactly the same next time you go. I can't say that appeals to me but I can appreciate why others would like that. Not all coffee shops have this level of consistency so this is where Starbucks earns its first brownie point.

Another thing that Starbucks has covered is customer service. This is no accident - the employees must go through a pretty good training programme before being let loose to serve the public. In business customer service is everything, and on this point overall Starbucks coffee delivers.

I bet quite a few of you reading this article have already had your daily java fix at a local Starbucks coffee shop. As long as they keep getting the customers, you'll keep getting your coffee. I have a feeling that the nations love affair with this beverage won't be ending anytime soon.
